Organizations

1.     The purpose of the this scholarship is to reward deserving students of the
School of Christian Living for Christian living, conscientious attendance at Sunday
School and Holy Mass, unselfish devotion to the parish programs, and interested
participation in parish activities.

2.     Two Scholarships of $200 each will be given by the SOCL ( School of Christian
Living ) for the 2010-year. The amount of the scholarships and the number will be
determined by majority vote on an annual basis at the October SOCL meeting by
both the officers of the SOCL and any members of SOCL attending this meeting.
The amount of two $200 awards was determined at SOCL meetings held throughout
the 2009-2010 years.

3.     The applicant must be a member of St. Joseph ’s Polish National Catholic
Church of Westfield, MA.

4.     The applicant must be accepted by a school or college of not less than one
year.

5.     The applicant must complete the application in full. (application, essay and one
letter of recommendation)

6.     All applications will be coded. No names will be used.

7.     The SOCL committee officers, who will not serve as judges, will code all
completed applications.

8.     A committee of not less than three persons, preferably members of other
church organizations, to be appointed by SOCL committee officers, will do the final
judging, based upon completed applications. Any person with a son or daughter in
this year’s graduating class may not serve as a judge.

9.     The scholarships will be awarded to students who have given most unselfishly
to their church as determined by their application.

10. The judging will be based solely on the participation of the applicant, not that of
any members of his or her family.

11. Scholarships will be made out to the applicant to be used at their discretion for
tuition or any other school related expenses.

                       LINDA LEE ZAWROTNY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants of the Linda Lee Zawrotny Memorial Scholarship must meet the following
criteria:

           1. The applicant must be a member of St. Joseph ’s Parish.

           2. The applicant must be a School of Christian Living Scholarship qualifier.

           3. The applicant must currently be continuing their secondary education in a

               school (college or trade) of not less than two years.

           4. The amount of the scholarship and the number of scholarships
              awarded will

               depend on the funds available and the discretion of the School of Christian

               Living Scholarship Committee. The funds available will be the amount

               of interest available from this account at the time of distribution of the

               scholarship.

           5. The Linda Lee Zawrotny Scholarship(s) will be awarded to those students,

                as determined by their applications, who are dedicated to a Christian life.

           6. All School of Christian Living Scholarship qualifiers that are continuing their

               secondary education are eligible to apply for this scholarship each
                year they are

               enrolled as a student.

           7. The monies may be used at the discretion of the student for any item(s)

               pertaining to school.

The applicant must complete the accompanying cover form and the two essay
questions.

The question page will be coded; no name will be used.

Applicants of the Kordeczka Family Memorial Scholarship must meet the following
criteria:

         1.The applicant must be a member of St. Joseph’s Parish.

         2.The applicant must have attended and completed studies at the

            St. Joseph’s School of Christian Living.

         3.All School of Christian Living Scholarship qualifiers that are

            continuing their secondary education are eligible to apply for this

            scholarship each year they are enrolled as a student.

         4.The monies may be used at the discretion of the student for any

            item(s) pertaining to school.

The applicant must complete the accompanying cover form and the essay question.
The question page will be coded; no name will be used.

The amount of money awarded will be the interest available from the memorial
account at the time of distribution of the Kordeczka Family Memorial Scholarship.
